What to Expect
The Assembly is not in session this week and is scheduled to resume on May 30, 2022.
Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will visit Metro Vancouver, likely with an agenda to discuss issues pertaining to housing and the food bank. Premier Horgan is scheduled to make an Invictus games announcement with the Prime Minister today, but it is expected that he will continue to push Trudeau on health funding.
This past week, the B.C. government has been focusing on developing a collaborative and mutually beneficial relationship with the Doctors of B.C. This assures the Government’s intent to maintain this relationship by developing solutions that have clear timelines and processes.
The Government is set to release a report on Thursday that will address homebuyer protections which will allow a cooling off period after agreeing to purchase – aimed to provide a better opportunity for inspection and financing.

The Week That Was
The government is modernizing the oil and gas royalty system by removing out of date/inefficient fossil fuel subsidies such as the:
- Deep Well Royalty Program;
- Marginal Well;
- Ultramarginal Well;
- Low Productivity Well Rate Reduction; and
- the Clean Growth Infrastructure Royalty programs
B.C. will be making the installation for personal use EV charging stations, more affordable for B.C. residents, businesses, and municipalities by providing higher rebates. This will cover up to 75 percent of costs for the purchase and installation, an increase from the previous 50 percent rebate coverage.

- Lorie A. Hrycuik as an Assistant Deputy Minister within the Ministry of Labour, effective May 25, 2022.
- Steven Bruce Arthur Emery as an Assistant Deputy Minister within B.C. Public Services Agency, Ministry of Finance, effective June 6, 2022.
