What to Expect
There are three different campaigns defining politics in the province right now. First, there’s the competitive municipal elections, being held on October 15. Then, there’s the Surrey South byelection that will be held on September 10, which means this week will see a lot of get-out-the-vote efforts from the various campaigns. Finally, there’s the NDP leadership race, which has only two candidates and concludes December 3.
The Week That Was
The provincial government announced $15 million for community-led projects that address the effects of homelessness during extreme weather. Forty-four communities will be eligible to access the funding.
In collaboration with the Doctors of B.C., the Ministry of Health will be providing $118 million of stabilization funding to increase the accessibility to primary care networks.
