What to Expect
Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan MLAs continue to sit for fall session this week. While there are a number of bills before the Legislature, the Opposition will try to embarrass the government by talking about such issues as the textbooks used in public schools, health care, and affordability and inflation. Try as they may, much of the province’s attention will be focused on Grey Cup in Regina. Most politicians will be taking part in the festivities, though some may be trying to ditch tickets now with the Riders failing to make the playoffs.
Manitoba
The Manitoba Legislature is also currently sitting, and there has been a flurry of announcements (see The Week That Was for a rundown). Expect these to continue as bills continue to be introduced. MLAs sit until December 1.

Saskatchewan
According to Statistics Canada, Saskatchewan led the country in year-over-year construction sector growth with a 56.2 per cent increase in activity.
Funding commitments from the federal and provincial governments worth $40 million for nine infrastructure projects were announced. Projects include bridges and cultural centres for Indigenous communities.
Manitoba
The province has announced a plan to hire 2,000 doctors, nurses, and other health professionals by investing $200 million in retaining, training, and recruiting medical staff across the province, as well as toward boosting safety in hospitals.
The Work in Manitoba job portal was introduced, which is meant to connect employers with those seeking work in a tight job market.
The governments of Canada and Manitoba are allocating up to $70 million in capital funding for new child-care facilities, creating more than 1,200 new, regulated non-profit child-care spaces across the province with a focus on rural and First Nations communities.
The Manitoba Government will invest $5 million to improve and modernize systems that support mineral exploration and mining in Manitoba. The hope is to help position the province as a global leader in responsible mineral development.
