An accomplished government relations consultant, Michael co-founded CSG in 2008. Over his 30-year career, he has served as a trusted advisor and strategist for many large companies and associations at both the federal and provincial levels. Michael has a strong record of results in the public, private, and political sectors. Beyond being skilled at executing public affairs strategies through traditional government relations, Michael is known for incorporating community engagement and media, whether mainstream, digital or social. 

Before co-founding CSG, Michael spent seven years leading pharmaceutical government relations for Johnson & Johnson in Western Canada. Prior to that, he was a chief of staff to the Klein government in various portfolios, including Environment, Agriculture, and Infrastructure. Michael was in the war room for the 2008, 2012, and 2015 provincial elections and has managed campaigns at all levels of government. He is frequently called upon to provide operational expertise, candidate training, and advice to both candidates and elected officials, and regularly provides media commentary on politics, government, and policy.

Michael holds a master of business administration (MBA) from Queen’s University and a bachelor of commerce (BCom) from the University of Alberta.
