British Columbia This Week

What to Expect

The British Columbia General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) will ramp up job action. One result is that the province’s publicly run liquor stores will need to continue to ration stock, resulting in bars, clubs, restaurants, and other establishments having to halt orders. BCGEU represents over 33,000 public service workers, so a large number of other government services could also quickly become affected.

The Week That Was

The federal and provincial governments will support 10 new agriculture innovation projects with $1 million of Canada-British Columbia Agri-Innovation Program funding.

A joint investment of more than $20 million from the federal and B.C. governments will be directed toward eight social, transportation, and green infrastructure projects across the province.
